Hello, my name is Justin Lee! I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. I am the eldest of 5 children. In college, I studied and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree. One of my favorite subjects in college was philosophy. It focuses on the fundamentals of all kinds of knowledge, and knowing the foundations of anything is really important. This is what I hope to give to my students when I teach; a great foundation that they can build upon.
Shortly after graduating, I came to Taiwan and studied and learned Chinese for 6 months. While doing this, I wrote articles, tests, helped edit college theses and tutored people of all ages. As I was tutoring, I realized I enjoyed teaching and wanted to hone my skills. So, I eventually got a certification in teaching English as a foreign language.
One of the things I always try to keep conscious of is the teachers I had when I was younger. They were patient, calm, mature and reasonable. They never disregarded our thoughts, and were always trying to be understanding and as a student it made me respect them and want to emulate what they did. I always felt like I was in good hands while I was learning, and I hope that I can do just that here at Sesame Street!
